
These emulators could all be loaded individually as seperate programs on a pc but retroarch does the heavy lifting and keeps all the emulators in one handy place and mostly keeps them up to date. So, retroarch calls emulators “cores” for some reason, although the rest of the community will still call them emulators. The interface is overloaded, unintuitive, and hard to follow. Man, I’ve been struggling with retroarch forever.
